Clarion County Senior Corps-RSVP February Volunteer Station of the Month

Community Action, Inc. announced the Clarion Hospital was selected to be the Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer Station of the Month for February. The Hospital has been a Senior Corps-RSVP Station since March 1999. Patti Bell, Director of Volunteer Services, has been with the Hospital since 2006 and states, "The Clarion Hospital is a non-profit and depends on the generosity of the community and volunteers. The Hospital has endless volunteer opportunities available to those looking for something to fill their spare time and help out in the community. Current hospital volunteer opportunities include helping with the information desk and mail room, restocking supplies, visiting patients, transporting patients to/from the Emergency Room, and several other duties." Senior Corps-RSVP recognized 16 volunteers for their years of service: Rita Amsler, Janet Cairns, Nancy Jane Frost, Frederick Glosser, Martha Glosser, and Grace Troese, fifteen years; Jean Amato, Carolyn McKay, Ruth McKay, and Doris Moore, eleven years; Nancy Bard and Nancy Reed, nine years; Linda McHenry, eight years; Nancy Rettig, seven years; Margaret Mortimer, six years; and Phyllis Howard, four years. Nancy Reed shared, "I enjoy greeting patients and visitors as they enter the hospital." Doris Moore added, "I love people watching and missed working with the public after I retired. I enjoy working in the mail room and preparing short procedure paperwork." Fred and Martha Glosser shared, "We have been volunteering at the Hospital for 20 years, we love helping people. We assist in the pharmacy with unpacking and inventory, stocking patient rooms, delivering meal trays, and other tasks." Community Action, Inc.'s Senior Corps-RSVP is very proud to have the Clarion Hospital as a Volunteer Station. The Hospital volunteers illustrate the true spirit of volunteerism and their dedication to making a difference in people's lives.
