Community Action, Inc. Names JEFFERSON County Senior Corps-RSVP October Volunteer of the Month

Community Action, Inc. announced Barbara McGee of Reynoldsville was selected to be the Jefferson County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for October. Barb has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since May 2012 volunteering for Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging’s Foundry Senior Center. Barb assists with preparing and serving lunch, cleaning, and special activities. Barb also makes jewelry for local nursing home residents, baby blankets for Project Linus, and volunteers for Jefferson County Youth Field Days. When asked why she volunteers, Barb stated, "I get great satisfaction knowing I am able to help people. I really enjoy volunteering at the Center.” When Barb is not volunteering she enjoys playing cards, puzzling, listening to country music, dancing, and spending time with her family. She is a member of the Falls Creek 965 Eagles, the New Horizons Singles Club, the Reynoldsville Mad Hatters Red Hat Society, and the Reynoldsville United Methodist Church.
