Community Action, Inc. Names Jefferson County
Senior Corps-RSVP March Volunteer of the Month |
|

Community Action, Inc. announced Donna Maines of Punxsutawney was selected to be the Jefferson County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for March. Donna has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since January 2009 volunteering for the Punxsutawney Area Community Center where her duties involve working the concessions for movies and advertising. Donna also serves on the Community Center's Board of Directors as Treasurer, and is on the interviewing committee for the manager’s position. Donna is also an IRS-certified tax preparer and prepares income taxes through Community Action Inc.’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. When asked why she volunteers Donna stated, "I like to help people and it’s a good way of filling in time outside of work.” When Donna is not volunteering, she works part-time as a realtor. Donna enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, winemaking, mowing her five acres of property and renovating her old farm house. She is a member of the Realtors’ Association and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Community Action, Inc.'s Senior Corps-RSVP is very proud to have Donna as a member.
