Community Action, Inc. Names Indiana County
Senior Corps-RSVP March Volunteer of the Month |
|

Community Action, Inc. announced Dorothy McCracken of Homer City was selected to be the Indiana County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for March. Dorothy has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since September 1998 volunteering for Aging Services Inc.’s Homer City Social Center. Dorothy helps prepare and serve meals and works at various other events. She also volunteers for the American Legion, AARP and the Brush Valley Senior Center. When asked why she volunteers Dorothy stated, "to get out; to be among people; to meet people. It’s better than staying home being bored!” When Dorothy is not volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her five children, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. She also enjoys embroidery, crosswords, puzzles, word scrambles, reading and traveling. Dorothy is a member of the Homer City American Legion and the Sportsman’s Club. Community Action, Inc.'s Senior Corps-RSVP is very proud to have Dorothy as a member. She depicts the true spirit of volunteering and is dedicated to making a difference in people's lives.
