The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare requires that the Medical
Assistance Transportation Program provide and insist that individuals use the
least costly and most suitable form of transportation available |

Mileage Reimbursements
are paid directly to the individual on a monthly basis for eligible trips
made through personally arranged transportation |

Public Transportation
Reimbursement is paid directly to the individual on a monthly basis for
eligible trips made through fixed route public transportation |

Pre-arranged public transportation
is provided by the Medical Assistance Transportation Program through a shared ride program |

When using pre-arranged medical transportation,
it may be necessary to wait for a return trip following the medical appointment |

Additional services may be available based upon the circumstances
of the situation and as authorized by the Medical Assistance Transportation Program staff |
